This Saturday the 3rd is the first event of Free Minds at our venue w/ Robotic AF & Space Arp Pete! Come by for some deep outer space tunes in every shape possible.

Robotic AF is a true crate digger and an esteemed figure in the Dutch nightlife scene. For years, he had his own monthly show on Red Light Radio and he produces edits, some released on vinyl by AM Records and Salamanca Records. His music also can’t be called world music by definition, but it’s the mix-up of European and American influences he likes. “The more confusing the better: a krautrock song with traditional ethnic instruments that sounds like an African record; that Nigerian boogie or Turkish disco track that are comparable to an American production and that Bollywood break that is a Kraftwerk copy. In music, people have always liked to travel…”

Rotterdam-South, the summer of 1990… A 90-minute tape dub circulated the neighborhood where Space Pete grew up. Looping electronic melodies, accompanied by heavy basskicks and snares for rhythm. Immediately it aroused every youth’s curiosity. What is this?.. It was called ‘House’. A few months later he would end up at his first all-night house parties. A friend told him that on the other side of the Maastunnel, there was a club where they played House music all-night-long every weekend… This club was called ‘Parkzicht’. From his first visit there, it was a done deal. Once through the doors, it was a wall of sound, explosions of light & crazy people dancing everywhere!  The ’86-’92 records that were played there still remain the cornerstone of his sets. His more than 30 years of partying brought him the rest of his inspiration.
