Focus X EYES WIDE SHUT join forces for this Sunday to start the year! This collaboration was in the pipeline for a while now, so we’re super stoked to make it happen! On the 22nd of January they’ll reside at Time Is The New Space for an intimate listening session including three live acts and DJ sets! Later this year we’ll follow up on the exchange and we’ll reside at a location T.B.A. in Leiden. Tickets are only €5 euros. Hope to see you there!
Yopo (DJ)
Yopo can either melt minds with his club-ready DJ sets of house, techno and electro, or when on the radio, hosting a stream or playing a heady listening session he will lay out experimental ambient trips full of narrative and steeped in musical research. Within each of these two distinctive sound worlds, there are no limits to where he might go.
TOBI (live)
As one-half of the EYES WIDE SHUT team, TOBI loves to bring people together, with sound as his driver and aims to push experimental music to the forefront. For this special occasion, he’ll take the stage and take you deep diving between the light and calming and the dark and eerie.
practical flowers (live)
An electronic-inspired songwriting duo based in The Hague and working in the fields of audio-visual performance, new media and instrument building. With live drums, synths and vocals they will play some unreleased written songs combined with space for improvisation.
Nathan Marcus (live)
Sounds in time collide with one another in this live ambient electronic set. As part of the audio-visual collective interbellum, Nathan Marcus will take you on a trip through his way too full hard drive. Long-forgotten ambient snippets will meet freshly recorded field recordings in a sonic mashup.
Rojo y Rosa (DJ)
“For this listening session I aim to paint a picture for the ear: playing a mixture of genres ranging from downtempo, new age all the way to berlin-school synths.”
